Nur Iman Kamarudin Azhar is a passionate Research Assistant devoted to uncovering new perspectives on traditional ecological knowledge and understanding the impacts of climate change from the viewpoint of indigenous communities. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Technology from UiTM Perlis, Malaysia and is committed to developing an educational system that supports the next generation of indigenous communities. Her work also focuses on fostering environmentally friendly innovations for modern society, drawing on the rich knowledge and traditions of these communities to harness the potential benefits of nature. Her early exposure to research was during her internship at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and through her final-year project. In the Voices of the Rainforest, Nur Iman is working on the anthropology work packages, where she is serving as a Research Assistant and acting as a liaison officer for one of the research sites with the Semai communities in Pahang.
