Shazleeza Izlyn is committed to environmental sustainability and indigenous community empowerment. As an indigenous person from the Semelai community, her journey is influenced by her cultural heritage as well as her relationship with nature. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Park and Recreation Science with Honours from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her early experiences during industrial training with the RAMSAR Site Management Unit at Tasek Bera and Perhilitan strengthened her skills in community engagement and ecosystem conservation. These experiences nurtured her deep respect for the symbiotic relationship between traditional knowledge and environmental stewardship. In the Voices of the Rainforest, Shazleeza Izlyn is working on the anthropology work packages, where she is serving as a research assistant and acting as a liaison officer for one of the research sites with the Semai communities in Pahang.
